For years, Joyce Meyer has released numerous books to help women in every aspect of struggles that they face, and now she offers an assistance in confidence with her book The Confident Woman. When it comes to gender analysis, it is no news for us to know that women are naturally insecure. We all know how our society works – the men being the stronger sex and the women being the weaker. Even though this “rule” has been set aside for a long time now since the modern way of things have proven equality between men and women, a lot of females are still eaten by self-doubt. Why do you believe is that?

The Confident Woman is constructed in an easy-to-comprehend form that is applicable for women of all ages. And just like all other works by Meyer, this is very religiously-rooted. The Confident Woman starts off with a retelling of the first biblical story, the life of Adam and Eve. Meyer states that both men and women are equal, and that they were designed to complement each other not repel each other. For the succeeding portions of her book, Meyer lays more passages and verses from the Bible to help readers rid of the “Woman vs. Man” misconception.

But, The Confident Women does not talk about the differences of men and women alone, but it also tackles the pressures coming from the same gender. The Confident Woman walks us to the stages of how our society was formed, giving us an overview of what events in the past have led women of the present to feel insecure. We all know about the images that makes a woman ideal: prim, meek, smart, reserved, and the list goes on. But Meyer says that these are not what women are really all about, these are the collected misconceptions. But what’s disappointing is that a lot of women are actually living up to follow these rules.

Meyer also talks about fear and how it becomes the root problem of why most women curl down and refuse to let loose of their true selves. Then she also suggests what weapon every woman should use to fight these fears, a true connection with God. This is because above all things, the only way that people can really find confidence in themselves is through having confidence in God.

Joyce Meyer did an amazing job when it comes to defining everything that makes women fearless. The 7 characteristics that Meyer enumerates to define a confident woman is very clearly enumerated that any woman can easily adopt them to their own lives. Things that happen to women are not really as simple as we believe, for they all somehow add up to the lack of confidence that most women feel. The Confident Woman’s message is very forward, it is not completely original, but any woman will surely learn to find security in her self.
